Dorms renamed in honor of Sue McDonald and Jim Brophy

Monday, March 8, 2021

IUGFS has a long history of naming buildings after former faculty who were leaders in geoscience education.  We are pleased to announce that we have recently refurbished two of our dormitory buildings and renamed them in honor of Sue McDonald and Jim Brophy. Sue taught G429 in the late 1990s and early 2000s. She has the reputation of being one of the most effective instructors in the history of IUGFS. Jim was faculty and director of IUGFS for more than 20 years.  He was also a strong supporter of IUGFS after he “retired” from IUGFS duties, both in his role as EAS Department Chair and as “on call” to be IUGFS faculty whenever he was needed.
