Each year, outstanding students from across the country enroll in the Judson Mead Geologic Field Station summer courses, and they are recognized with scholarships to help defray the cost of courses. A variety of Field Station funding sources are used to provide these scholarship awards.
Course Costs
Scholarships are made available to students once they have applied and been accepted for a course at the Field Station. For summer 2025, we estimate that 85% of X429 students will receive a scholarship between $500 and $2,000.
You do not need to apply individually for our scholarships. Please just indicate that you are interested in being considered for a scholarship on your application to study at the Field Station.
Complete your application materials early to have the best chance for a scholarship!
Scholarships for X429 are awarded on a “first come, first served” basis for equally qualified candidates. Once we deplete our academic scholarship budget, we won’t have scholarship money to give out to highly qualified candidates.
