X498t (X429t) Quantitative Structural Geology – interpretation of thrust system geometry and kinematic evolution using an integration of first-hand outcrop observations, 2D seismic interpretation, and quantitative cross section analysis. Uses quantitative methods to validate possible geometries and quantify shortening in cross sections through a contractional orogenic belt. For students enrolling in X498t, a course in structural geology is a prerequisite.
