Joshua Brown earned his B.A. in Geology at IU in 1990. He deeply valued his summer experience at the Judson Mead Geological Field Station and credits it with teaching important lessons in teamwork, initiative, perseverance, and resourcefulness - all traits that have served him well during a long, successful career as an entrepreneur and business owner. Through his gift, the Donor particularly wishes to honor two individuals - Dr. Lee J. Suttner and Dr. Peter G. DeCelles - who provided invaluable mentoring and support during his own Field Station experience.
Income from this gift will be used to support scholarships for students who have been accepted and enrolled in field courses at the IU Judson Mead Geological Field Station in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences within the College of Arts and Sciences. Recipients will be students enrolled at any IU campus.
